The History

Everlite is brand owned by Senco Gold Limited (‘the Company’) having a legacy of over eight decades. Our company was originally incorporated as Senco Gold Private Limited on August 22, 1994, in Kolkata, West Bengal, under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1956.

Later, in order to expand its activities in the field of the jewelry business, the Company was converted to a public limited company in August 2007 with the name Senco Gold Limited.

Subsequently, pursuant to a resolution passed at a meeting of the Board of Directors held on June 27, 2007, and a special resolution of the shareholders at the EGM held on August 8, 2007, the name of the company was changed to Senco Gold Limited, resulting in its conversion into a public limited company. A fresh certificate of incorporation dated August 31, 2007, consequent to the change of name, was issued by the Registrar of Companies, West Bengal. The Company was converted to a public limited company in order to expand its activities in the field of the jewelry business.

The Visionaries

Our Founder Chairman was Late Shri Shankar Sen. He was associated with the Company since its inception and had over three decades of experience in the jewelry industry.

Shri Suvankar Sen, aged 38 years, is a Whole Time Director designated as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of our Company. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Calcutta. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in business management from the Institute of Management & Technology, Ghaziabad. He has been associated with the Company since 2005 and has over 16 years of experience in the jewelry industry. He has been awarded the “XIA Business Leader of The Year” in 2018 by SXC Calcutta Alumni Association, South Chapter.

Presently the Company has its presence across 16 Indian states, having 150+ showrooms.

The Karigari

Actual craftsmanship lies in the ideas and creativity of a karigar. We emphasize intricate designs and curate them in the most desired way. A significant portion of the manufacturing of our jewelry is carried out by over many experienced karigars across the nation. The karigars associated with our Company are renowned for their artistic work and finesse in carving and processing plain gold, studded gold, platinum and diamond and polki ornaments. Our strength lies in heavy bridal and light-weight gold jewelry products. The craftsmanship of our karigars is well-known for intricate filigree work with thin gold wires and small beads, known as nakshi workmanship with etching and curving in gold.

Guiding Philosophy

Our Company works consistently towards providing an Omni channel experience both in-showroom as well as through our websites complementing our ability to reach customers. In addition to physical showrooms, we have also adopted a “Phy-gital” model. To ensure that we reach geographies beyond our physical showrooms, we intend to continue building a brand presence in the country through available e-commerce and online channels, including continued and seamless customer experience for online and offline sales through our websites, mobile, chatbots, our mobile application and the Showrooms. Towards this end, we continuously invest in technology with a view to complementing our physical Showroom presence with our digital presence.

Art Of Jewellery

West Bengal is a prominent jewellery manufacturing hub in east India, reputed for lightweight and handmade jewellery. The karigars of the state are skilled and known for their craftsmanship. Apart from catering to jewellery demand in the state, jewellery manufacturers from this region also cater to neighbouring states and other parts of the country. It is also one of the major gold and diamond jewellery exporting regions in India.

One of our key strengths lies in the craftsmanship of our Bengali Karigars. The manufacturing of our jewellery is carried out by extremely experienced Karigars in Kolkata who sincerely create beautiful designs like filigree, meenakari, polki, jadau, temple jewellery and many more unique designs. Our presence in West Bengal allows us to access quality craftsmen, who have been working with our Company for a number of years.

Our products represent designs from a wide range of cultures from traditional Indian designs to Indo-Western and western designs. We offer a wide variety of jewellery options, including rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces, nosepins, mangalsutras, chains and bangles. We offer our products across a wide range of price points (Rs 4,200 - Rs 38,00,000). Kolkata’s craftsmanship and in particular that of our Karigars is known for its intricate filigree work and meticulous workmanship with thin gold wires and small beads on our jewellery pieces.

Senco Gold & Diamonds was ranked the 2nd most trusted jewellery brand by TRA’s Brand Trust Report 2023. We were certified as a Great Place to Work (2023-24) conducted by the Great Place to Work^® Institute, India. We were also awarded the Best Retail Brand (East Region) at the 8^th Bullion & Jewellery Awards 2023 and the IBJA's 'Jeweller of the Month' certificate for 'Driving Positive Change through CSR' in 2023. We were also presented with the Best Organisational Development (OD) Programme and Best Training Initiative for Retail by National Awards for Leadership and Excellence in 2022. We received the KALEIDO award by ET Brand Equity in 2022, the Marketing Campaign of the Year at the Awards for Excellence in Branding and Marketing by CMO Asia in 2021 and 2022 for Bangle Utsav 2021 and 2022. We were also awarded the Best Brand in Jewellery Category by The Economic Times in 2021.

Mr. Suvankar Sen, our MD & CEO, was awarded the ABP Ananda Sera Bangali Award 2023 for outstanding entrepreneurship. He was presented with the Business Excellence Award by CMA in 2022 and 2023. He was also awarded The Rising Star, 40 Under 40 Award at IIJS Premier 2023 organised by GJEP and Times 40 Under 40 Summit North Award in 2023. He was presented with the CEO of the year for Phygital Technology Impact at the Retail Jewellery MD & CEO Awards in 2022 and Xavier’s Business Award from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata in 2023.

Ms. Joita Sen, Director of Senco Gold & Diamonds, was awarded the “Excellence in Women Leadership & Entrepreneurship" award from St. Xavier's College Alumni Association in 2023. Ms. Sen has also been presented with the prestigious "ET Inspiring Women Leaders -2023" Award, for her exceptional work and leadership in Marketing and Designs. She was awarded the New India's Powerful Women Entrepreneur Award in Lifestyle Category at Jagran Achiever Awards in 2023. She was also presented with the YFLO Trendsetter for Fashion/Jewelry Award 2023-2024 and Business Woman of the Year Award for Designs and Campaigns in 2024.
